Fair Wear

We are committed to improving the working conditions of the people who make the products we sell. That's why we're a leading member of Fair Wear, an organization that helps brands like us make step-by-step improvements. Fair Wear encourages and supports us in working with our suppliers to ensure that the factories we use are safe and that workers benefit from fair working conditions. Fair Wear works with factories, other brands and other industry stakeholders on practical and innovative measures so that together we can change the garment industry.

Brand Performance Check

PET RECYCLING

Recycling is an important pillar of our sustainability strategy and serves to minimize the environmental impact of manufacturing our products. We use fabrics with a recycled PET bottle content of 50% - 100%. PET recycling has a double advantage: less waste is produced and fewer natural resources are needed to produce a finished backpack. This significantly reduces the unavoidable environmental impact.

BLUESIGN

The bluesign® system is based on minimizing the environmental impact during the entire production process. All substances and raw materials used in production are tested before production begins. Across the company, we currently source all our fabrics from bluesign® system partners and therefore from suppliers who further reduce their emissions to air and water and have an environmental management system in place.

PFC-free impregnation

Since 2020, we have only used PFC-free impregnations to make our outer fabrics water-repellent. PFCs (per- and polyfluorinated chemicals) or PFAS (per- and polyfluorinated alkyl substances) are a very large group of chemicals that do not occur in nature and are not biodegradable. Due to their water-repellent properties, these harmful chemicals are often used in the textile industry, especially for outdoor products, and are released into the environment via air and water.

GOTS

We offer GOTS-certified products. This applies to all products in our range that are made from organic cotton. The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is recognized worldwide as the leading standard for the processing of textiles made from organic natural fibres. In order to receive the certificate, all suppliers, from cultivation to the finished shirt, must meet the strict requirements, which include both ecological and social criteria. Visit the official GOTS website and enter the code in the "Free Text" field: BCS 35042. Our parent company FOB Holding GmbH is listed under this code.

ORGANIC COTTON

We use 100% organic cotton for our AEVOR cotton clothing. This means that, unlike conventional cotton, we do not use chemicals or pesticides that are harmful to farmers' health and the environment. The processing of organic cotton uses 91% less water, 62% less energy and 46% less CO2 compared to conventional cotton.

Transparency

As many parties and processes are involved, the textile supply chain is very complex. Nevertheless, our aim is to understand where our products and materials come from and to make transparent where we produce. A detailed list of our Tier 1 (direct suppliers) and Tier 2 suppliers (fabric and material suppliers) as well as sub-suppliers, which is updated once a year, can be found here.

GREEN KNOB

AEVOR offers products with the "Grüner Knopf" seal of approval, which is awarded by the independent and governmental Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. The "Grüner Knopf" label confirms that we assume social and ecological responsibility in our supply chains - in compliance with defined criteria.
