Fair Wear

We are committed to improving the working conditions of the people who make the products that we sell. That is why we are a leading member of Fair Wear, an organisation that helps brands like us make step-by-step improvements. Fair Wear encourages and provides support for us to work together with our suppliers to ensure the factories we use are safe, and workers benefit from fair labour conditions. Fair Wear collaborates with factories, other brands, and other industry stakeholders on practical and innovative measures so together we can change the garment industry.

PET RECYCLED

Recycling is a key pillar of our sustainability strategy and serves to minimize our impact on the environment when manufacturing our products. We use fabrics with a recycled PET bottle content of 50% - 100%. PET recycling has double the benefits: less waste is produced and fewer natural resources are needed to produce a finished backpack. This significantly reduces the amount of unavoidable environmental pollution.

BLUESIGN

The bluesign® system is based on minimizing the environmental impact during the entire production process. All substances and raw materials used during manufacturing are checked before the start of production. Company-wide, we currently receive all of our fabrics from bluesign® system partners and therefore from suppliers that are continuing to reduce their emissions into the air and water and have an environmental management system.

PFC-FREE IMPREGNATION

We have managed to switch our entire production to PFC-free impregnation from 2020. PFC (perfluorinated and polyfluorinated chemicals) is a large group of chemicals that do not occur naturally and therefore take a long time to dissolve or are not biodegradable at all. Due to their waterproofing properties these harmful chemicals are often used in the textile industry, especially for outdoors products and enter our system via air and water.

GOTS

We offer GOTS certified products. This applies to all products in our range that are made from organic cotton. The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is recognised worldwide as the leading standard for the processing of textiles made from organic natural fibres. In order to receive the certificate, all suppliers, from cultivation to the finished shirt, must meet the strict requirements, which include not only ecological but also social criteria. Visit the official GOTS website and fill in the "Free Text" the code: BCS 35042. Our mother company FOB Holding GmbH is listed under this identification number.

ORGANIC COTTON

We use 100% organic cotton for our AEVOR cotton clothing. This means that, unlike conventional cotton, we do not use any chemicals or pesticides that harm the health of the farmers and the environment. By processing organic cotton, 91 % less water, 62 % less energy and 46 % less CO2 is used compared to conventional cotton.

Transparency

As many parties and processes are involved, the textile supply chain is very complex. Nevertheless, it is our aim to understand where our products and materials come from and transparently show where we produce. A detailed list of our Tier-1 (direct suppliers) and Tier-2 suppliers (fabrics and materials) and subcontractors, which is updated once a year, can be found here.

GRĂśNER KNOPF

AEVOR offers products with the "GrĂĽner Knopf" quality label, which is awarded by the independant and governmental German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development. The "GrĂĽner Knopf" label verifies that we take social and environmental responsibility in our supply chains - meeting defined criteria.
